Sandara Park, a South Korean pop star shared a video of her pleasant travel experiences in our country. The Philippines has a special place in her heart.
On the Korean TV show called "Battle Trip," Sandara explained to the audience that the Philippines is a beautiful country and a safe country to visit, contrary to popular belief.
Due to terrorists’ activities in Mindanao, the Philippines’ gained a reputation for being a dangerous country. But Sandara defended our country's reputation.
According to her: “One of the reasons why I introduce the Philippines to Battle Trip is people always ask me about the Philippines, ‘Isn’t it dangerous? I hear public safety is poor? They always ask me that. It’s just that unfortunate incidents are shown in the news. I wanted to show that it’s not dangerous at all.”
To prove that the Philippines is safe to visit, Sandara and her friend went to the country for a vacation. They went to Mt. Taal to view its famous lake inside the volcano and at the same time tried fresh buko juice while enjoying their sight-seeing. The next day, they visited the famous white sand beach in Cebu and then flew to Palawan to experience snorkelling in one of the few diverse marine resources in the world.
Many netizens applauded Sandara for showing the beautiful side of the Philippines to South Korean audiences.
One netizen wrote: “Mabuti pa ibang lahi, ipinagtatanggol ang image ng Philippines. Ang ibang Pinoy, sila pa ang sumisira ng image ng Philippines.”
